Meditation Advice by H.E. Zurmang Gharwang Rinpoche

In this short lecture series, H.E. Zurmang Gharwang Rinpoche takes us through the theory and practice of meditation. This is a complete course suitable for both beginners and experienced meditators.

Rinpoche has broken the instructions into six sessions.


SESSION ONE | Introduction to Meditation Practice 

In the first session, H.E. Zurmang Gharwang Rinpoche gives some introductory advice for meditation. The importance of meditating on the nature of the mind and the general benefits of meditation.


SESSION TWO | General Advice for Meditation Practice 

 

In the second session, H.E. Zurmang Gharwang Rinpoche gives some general advice for your meditation practice. In particular, Rinpoche explains how to work with thoughts in meditation. Rinpoche also explains how to deal with dullness and agitation.


SESSION THREE


 

In the third session, H.E. Zurmang Gharwang Rinpoche explains the causes of śamathā and the causes of vipśyanā. Rinpoche then explains the five obstacles to developing concentration and the eight antidotes to these 5 problems.
